Knocking on a window. "field recording" taken in my home studio in renton, wa in september of 2014. Recorded with an audio-technica atr-1300 unidirectional mic through a preamp into my mac mini on audacity. Ambient noise has been filtered out.
I moved the zoom h1 n onto the window sill in the veranda. It picks up the rain beating on the thin plastic roof sheathing above, and on the glass windows next to the window sill. It is rainy weather - january winter rains on vancouver island. It is a hard driving rain. My recollection is that it was about twelve millimeters in one hour. It was wet, the trees grow fast & tall.
Recorded in huntington, ny at 11:00 am with a sound devices mix pre-3 and an audio-technica bp4025 microphone (with a rode blimp windshield) inside a 2014 honda crv with the microphone placed by the windshield.
